THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR

THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR
Outside Theatre at Duff House
Wed 12th July starts 7pm (doors open 6.15pm)
Folksy Theatre has been coming for years and always provide great entertainment. Bring your chairs, rugs and picnics and watch a really fun interpretation of this Shakespeare play, full of live music and colourful characters, with Duff House as a rather beautiful backdrop.
The story line is that Falstaff, down on his luck, decides to woo two married ladies. They compare their letters, find they’re identical and so play tricks on Falstaff. Meanwhile, the daughter, Anne, of one of these ladies has fallen in love, although her parents are trying to pair her off with a couple of other suitors.
During the chaos of one of the tricks when Falstaff is attacked by “fairies”, Anne runs off with her lover to get married.
It all sort of ends well but lots of fun along the way.
The performance goes ahead whatever the weather – but of course it’s going to be dry and sunny!
