All of Jul:  Exhibition – Views of Urban Scotland

This is a really excellent exhibition that provides a fascinating look at Scottish urban life and landscape since the turn of the 17th century.  Around 30 outstanding drawings, watercolours and prints give a unique insight into the changing lifestyle and townscapes of Scotland; several are local to Banff and Macduff.  Until 5th Aug.  Included in admission.

Includes some superb aerial photography giving a unique and different view of well known buildings and landscape features.  Included in House Admission.

 

Fri 20th Jul:  Outside Theatre  “Love’s Labour’s Lost”

Folksy Theatre, with their unique and informal touch perform this humorous story, with some live music, a bit of audience participation and “downright silliness”.  The King of Navarre and his lords swear off food, women and sleep for three years; the Princess of France and her ladies then arrive!  How will the King and his Lords resolve hold up?  Bring your own chairs, and a picnic.  Gates open 6.15pm, starts 7.00pm.   Tickets available at Duff House, online at historicenvironment.scot (search for Duff House) and on the night.

 

Sat & Sun 21st / 22nd Jul:  Meet a “WW2 soldier”

An actor will be in the uniform of a Highland Division soldier, with typical equipment to show, and will explain what life was like as a soldier in World War 2.  Included in Admission.

 

Sun 22nd Jul:  Out of the Blue – the Bombing of Duff House
